Why Badminton Is the Hottest Bet in Southeast Asia
Badminton has always had a passionate following here in the Philippines, and across Southeast Asia in general. From watching the likes of Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and Viktor Axelsen dominate on the international circuit, to rooting for Filipino shuttlers making their mark on the BWF calendar — the sport generates real excitement every single week of the year.
At un777, we've built a dedicated badminton sportsbook section that caters specifically to how Filipino fans consume the sport. We offer match-winner markets, set betting, handicap lines, and live in-play odds for all major BWF-sanctioned events. Unlike some platforms that only cover badminton during the biggest events, un777 keeps the markets active through the full season — from Super 500 events in Asia to the prestigious All England and the BWF World Championships.
One thing that sets un777 apart for Filipino players is how easy it is to get your money in and out. Deposit via GCash or Maya in seconds, place your bet on that crucial men's singles final, and if your pick wins, your payout arrives straight back into your GCash wallet — no waiting days for a bank wire, no complicated withdrawal forms. That speed and simplicity is something our players from Metro Manila to General Santos City genuinely appreciate.
Badminton betting at un777 also comes with competitive odds backed by live data feeds. Our prices are updated in real time as matches progress, so you can catch shifting momentum and act on it. Spotted that a top seed is struggling in the second set? Un777's live market lets you bet right through to the final shuttle. It's the same rush you get watching a PBA Finals game, but this time you're playing the courts in Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, or Paris.

Tournaments Covered on un777
un777 covers the full BWF World Tour calendar plus major team events. Here are the highlights.
BWF World Championships
The biggest individual title in badminton. Held annually, this is where the world's top shuttlers compete across all five disciplines. un777 offers the deepest market coverage for this event, including outright winner, quarter-final matchups, and same-game multi bets.
All England Open
The oldest and most prestigious badminton tournament in the world. Played on fast indoor courts in Birmingham, the All England consistently draws the top 32 seeds across every discipline. A must-watch for any serious badminton fan — and bettor.
Indonesia Open
Held in Jakarta's Istora Senayan, the Indonesia Open is the spiritual home of badminton in Southeast Asia. It draws enormous crowd energy and the home nation's players always perform at a high level. Live markets on un777 stay active throughout each session.
Thomas & Uber Cup
The most-watched team event in badminton. The Thomas Cup (men's) and Uber Cup (women's) generate massive betting interest across the Asia-Pacific region. Filipino fans follow these events closely, especially when Southeast Asian nations are in contention.
Malaysia Open
Played in Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysia Open is always close in feel and spirit to the Philippines. Southeast Asian contingents fight hard here, and the Malaysian crowd atmosphere is electric. One of the most reliable tournaments for close match betting.
French Open
A late-season Super 500 event in Paris that often serves as a preview of world rankings battles before the year-end Finals. European players tend to shine here, making it a great opportunity for value bets against Asian favorites on un777.
Types of Badminton Bets on un777
From simple match winners to detailed in-play markets — here's what's available on un777's badminton sportsbook.
Match Winner (1X2)
The most straightforward bet — simply pick which player or pair wins the match. Great for beginners. Odds reflect world ranking, head-to-head records, and current form.
Handicap Betting
When one player is a heavy favorite, a handicap line (e.g., -1.5 sets) evens the odds. Your selected player must win by more than the handicap for your bet to pay out.
Set Betting
Predict the exact scoreline in sets (e.g., 2-0 or 2-1). This carries higher odds than a straight match winner because the exact margin must be correct — rewarding confident analysis.
Live In-Play Betting
Bet as the match unfolds. Odds shift after every rally, set, and serve. Perfect for experienced bettors who can read momentum swings — a quality the fastest badminton matches demand.
Outright Winner
Pick the tournament champion before the event begins. Un777 offers outright markets for all major BWF events, with long-shot prices available on lower-ranked players who could cause upsets.
Total Points (Over/Under)
Bet on whether the total points scored across a set or match will go over or under a given line (e.g., over 42.5 points in Set 1). Ideal when you're unsure of the winner but confident about match pace.
Parlay / Multi-Bet
Combine two or more badminton selections into a single parlay for amplified returns. Win all legs and your payout multiplies significantly. Higher risk, but the rewards are real — especially across a busy tournament day.
First Set Winner
Bet on who wins the opening set only — regardless of the final match outcome. A great market for live betting when you want to act quickly on early match dynamics without committing to a full match prediction.
Players to Watch in 2025
Knowing the top shuttlers helps you bet smarter. Here are the key names when browsing un777's badminton markets.
Viktor Axelsen
Denmark's dominant force. Multi-year world number one with a clinical net game and an almost unbreakable mental strength. The consistent favorite in any market that un777 lists him in — but his odds reflect it.
Shi Yu Qi
China's best bet to dethrone Axelsen. Relentless pressure game with incredible court speed. Consistently produces value on un777 when facing lower-ranked opponents in the early rounds of Super 1000 events.
An Se Young
South Korea's superstar who has redefined the women's singles game. Her aggressive baseline play and fitness make her a popular pick among Filipino bettors on un777 for outright tournament markets.
Fajar / Rian
Indonesia's Men's Doubles pair Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto. Southeast Asian heroes with an explosive net game. Huge crowd support whenever they compete — watch for live bet value when they face Chinese pairs on neutral courts.
Smart Badminton Betting Tips for Filipino Players
Betting on badminton at un777 is more rewarding when you go in with a bit of context. These practical tips can help you make more informed decisions — whether you're betting your first ₱100 or managing a regular bankroll.
Indoor badminton courts vary in shuttle speed based on altitude and air conditioning. Indonesia Open's Istora Senayan is known for faster shuttle conditions. A player with explosive attacking play tends to thrive on faster courts — this matters for set totals and handicap markets.
Some players have a psychological edge over specific opponents regardless of world ranking. A player ranked 12th might consistently beat someone ranked 4th due to playing style matchups. Un777's live odds often reflect current form but not always historical H2H data — know the history and you'll spot value pricing.
Top players like Axelsen often play in back-to-back Super events across different continents. By the time they reach a third tournament in as many weeks, fatigue can be a real factor — especially in long three-set matches. Look for value against heavy favorites in later rounds of the second week.
Badminton is uniquely volatile — a player can shift from 5-10 down to winning a set 21-18. Un777's in-play market responds to every point. If you're watching a match via stream and you see one player starting to dominate physically, acting fast on the live market can get you significantly better odds than pre-match lines.
This sounds obvious, pero importante talaga. Decide your bankroll for the tournament before it starts — for example ₱1,000 across the week — and split it into units. Never chase a loss by immediately depositing more. Un777 supports responsible gaming features including deposit limits and session reminders to help you stay in control.
